Cooling System Problems That Lead to Major Engine Damage
Overheating is one of the fastest ways to destroy a diesel engine. Warped heads, cracked liners, blown head gaskets - all preventable.
Common cooling issues: weak water pump, stuck thermostat, plugged radiator, broken fan clutch, EGR cooler leak, and worn hoses or clamps.
Catch any of these at the warning stage and the fix is cheap. Wait for it to overheat under load and you're looking at major engine work.
