Warning Signs of Driveline Problems in Heavy-Duty Trucks

Driveline issues never get better on their own. They escalate - and a failed U-joint at highway speed can take out a transmission, fuel tank, or brake line.

Symptoms by component: U-joint failures cause clicking on take-off and vibration at speed; center bearings cause a vibration that gets worse with load; differential issues whine, howl, or clunk; axle seal leaks show as oil on the inside of the wheels.

Get any of these checked the moment you notice. Driveline repair is cheap; driveline failure is not.
